3 is half of 8, what secret society hacked this cryptic clue in our Arabic Numerals and why?
Q. Davinci was not the only one to encrypt secret messages. Our Arabic numerals is an example-- half of 8 is 4, but only in the mathematical sense (for those right brained thinkers). The Graphic sense (for those left brain thinkers) show us another side, in this case half of 8 is 3. When counting from 1-10 and straight along your fingers (given that you have the standard 10) you will find that 3 and 8 each land on a middle finger. Is this coincidence, or a secret code? Lets explore. The numbers 3 and 8 were changed from their original Arabic characters around 1800 years ago. This is also interesting: Early Pagans -- fertility cult worshipers were often persecuted for their beliefs-- mainly because they worshipped a femal deity equal to that… [cont.]

How will Prop 8 be overturned in California? Why is it illegal in the first place?
Q. I hear a lot of jargon about constitutional law, wherein neither the people nor the Legislature do not have the right to revise or adjust the California State Constitution, which is what Prop 8 does. And the very proposition violates the constitution itself. There is an equal protection clause that causes prop 8 to be in direct contradiction with the constitution. Yes, the courts and legislature do have the power to overturn it because it's not an amendment, it's a revision. And the "will of the people" cannot violate the rights of the minority. What is the truth? any links?

A. Fundamentally Jack is correct - there is no discrimination. Every man has the right to marry any willing woman and vice versa. No man has the right to marry another man. Problem is that homosexuals want the term "marriage" to be changes. It's not a civil rights issue, it's a perception issue, and most people do not want the perception of marriage to be changed to include men-men and women-women. Frankly I could care less. Morally I could care less. But LEGALLY, there is no discrimination, no violation of rights, and frankly, had Proposition 22 be upheld it probably would have been overturned because it was simply a law. Now that 8 passed, it will be extremely difficult indeed to change the constitution.

Asked by oneflipballer - Tue Nov 6 19:10:56 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. BE SURE to do it in a neutral area, meaning not at your home. The Bichon that you currently have will just act out in attempt to protect your home, and not get to know the new one. I would suggest arranging them to meet in a park or an area of that sort, open and not to busy.

How much would a 8 week old husky puppy cost on average?
Q. I am planning on buying a 8 week old husky puppy and a breeder was asking for $742. I am wondering on top of all supplies for the dog if this is too high and i should look to adopt a puppy or am I getting a good deal.
Asked by bignasty26 - Wed Jan 21 23:03:31 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You should definitely adopt a dog. A puppy at a breeder is going to get a good home. A puppy at a shelter will be put to sleep if a good home isnt found. Thousands are put to sleep every day in the U.S., just because noone wants them. A shelter puppy will already have its vaccinations up to date, and they will give you a coupon to have the puppy spayed/neutered when it gets old enough for only $15. Please adopt. $742 is a lot to spend on a dog. Why not spend that on dog toys and vet care for a shelter dog? You could also look online for a Husky rescue in your area. Good Luck!

A. I'd love to help you but what you're asking for is impossible. It is physically impossible to gain that much in such a short time. You could realistically expect to gain 1-2 pounds per week and that's assuming you're training and getting enough calories. To give you an idea. 8 pounds is roughly equivalent to 28000 calories. So you would need to take in 2000 additional calories per day. I'm a powerlifter and I weigh 250, I eat around 4500 calories a day. I gain 1 maybe 2 pounds a week if I'm lucky. Chances are you don't eat more than 2000-2500 calories a day. So imagine eating twice what you eat now. Even if you did that, your body just will not gain more than a certain amount in a given time. So simply put, no matter what you… [cont.]

A. It's really quite simple. For the past several years, interest rates have been low, and money has flowed rather easily through the economy. Lower interest rates usually lead to greater spending, and this helps the economy. The downside of this is that lower interest rates drive investors away to other currencies where interest rates are higher. This increases exports and decreases imports, because the dollar buys fewer foreign goods, but domestic goods are priced at a discount versus foreign goods. This cycling helps with Balance of Trade, but it can develop into inflation, so interest rates tend to rise to combat this. A. Assuming each of you has equal probability of winning... 10C8 (1/4) * (3/4) = (10*9)/(1*2) * 9/(4 ) = 810/ 2^(21) This is very very small... but then this is assuming that all of you have equal skill in playing... Chances are... your probability of winning is greater than some of your playmates... 10C8 will determine the number of ways of arranging the wins and losses. (Exactly 8 wins and 2 losses.) (1/4) is the probability of winning 8 times. (3/4) is the probability of losing twice. If you win 10 out of 10 then it should be 1/(4 ) already. More edit: yeah... forgot to notice the 'at least part' It must be 10C8 (1/4) * (3/4) + 10C9 (1/4) * (3/4) + 10C10 (1/4) * (3/4) 10C8 (1/4) * (3/4) = 405 / 4 10C9 (1/4) * (3/4)… [cont.]

Q. Last night, 4 of us played a game of dominoes. It consisted of 10 rounds and I won 8 of the 10! I've forgotten how to calculate the odds of one person of 4 winning at least 8 of 10 games. Can anyone help?
