3 is half of 8, what secret society hacked this cryptic clue in our Arabic Numerals and why?
Q. Davinci was not the only one to encrypt secret messages. Our Arabic numerals is an example-- half of 8 is 4, but only in the mathematical sense (for those right brained thinkers). The Graphic sense (for those left brain thinkers) show us another side, in this case half of 8 is 3. When counting from 1-10 and straight along your fingers (given that you have the standard 10) you will find that 3 and 8 each land on a middle finger. Is this coincidence, or a secret code? Lets explore. The numbers 3 and 8 were changed from their original Arabic characters around 1800 years ago. This is also interesting: Early Pagans -- fertility cult worshipers were often persecuted for their beliefs-- mainly because they worshipped a femal deity equal to that… [cont.]

What are 3 viruses and bacteria that attack the immune system?
Q. Im doing a project in my biology class about viruses and bacteria. The question is "Describe at least 3 viruses and bacteria that attack the immune system. Also explain how they work, live and survive." I already have one virus (HIV) but i need 2 more viruses and 3 bacterias that attack immune system. Also can you elaberate on how HIV attacks the immune system and how it survives? Thanks for all your help!

A. Attack is kind of a bad word here!! Viruses "generate" an immune response. 3 such virus ..some common one:1-Herpes, Chicken Pox( varicella zoster virus), Rabies virus( Rabies disease), Measles Virus, Rubella virus. Bacteria: pneumonia( streptococcus pneumoniae),Salmonella(sa lmonella species), Gonorrhea( Neisseria gonorrhoeae)..other diseases- syphylis,cholera..you can google these and see the name of the bacteria. Viruses are parasites and their mode of operation varies. They can survive only when they parasitise another organism, you name the organism and there is a virus that lives on it.They live in our cells, the nucleus, cytoplasm and they live in a varied number of cells. What are 3 good points for writing essay about korean war?
Q. What are 3 good points for writing essay. And the evidence that support the 3 points.
Asked by samsung7k777 - Sun Nov 25 06:44:48 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I would suggest narrowing the topic a bit. SOmeone could write large books about this topic. You could, for example discuss three causes of the war. Or maybe 3 results. What about three important people whose actions effected the outcome of the war. Whatever you choose you should stay away from a simple summary of events of focus on important concepts such as the US policy of containment, the cold war, the arguments for and against using nuclear weapons on China, etc. THere are many things you can write about but you need to do some reading and research to figure out what you would like to focus on.

A. The P&S 695G does require that the ground wire be connected to the ground screw on the switch in order to illuminate the pilot light. That wire should be a bare copper or green jacketed wire in the wall box. IF there is not one in the wall box, this might imply that you do not have a grounded system. This should only be the case if your house was built pre-60's.

A. Different Colors P(White Red Black) = [C(3,1)/C(12,1 x C(4,1)/C(12,1) x C(5,1)/C(12,1)] x P(3,3) = [3/12 x 4/12 x 5/12] x 3! = [3x4x5/12^3] x 3! Same Color P(All White U All Red U All Black) = P(W1 W2 W3) + P(R1 R2 R3) + P(B1 B2 B3) = [C(3,1)/C(12,1)]^3 + [C(4,1)/C(12,1)]^3 + [C(5,1)/C(12,1)]^3 = (3/12)^3 + (4/12)^3 + (5/12)^3 = 3^3 + 4^3 + 5^3/12^3

What is the concentration of Red 3 in the unknown solution?
Q. John Bier determines that the slope of the line representing the aborbance of a solution of Red 3 at its analytical wavelength as a function of concentration (in mg/L) is .066 L/mg. He measures the absorbance at the same wavelength of a solution of Red 3 of unknown concentration in the same cuvette and finds the absorbance is .11. What is the concentration of Red 3 in the unknown solution? Im so confused, how would you solve this?
Asked by Christie - Mon Jun 4 14:24:27 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you have a graph of absorbance vs concentration, then the equation describing the line will be Abs = (slope) * conc (in the form y = mx + b, where the intercept b should be zero, since zero material will not absorb) Then, the equation is Abs = 0.066 L/mg * conc Plug in the value for absorbance and solve for concentration. conc = Abs / 0.066 L/mg = 0.11 / 0.066 L/mg = 1.67 mg/L

A. Hi. This is a strange question as there is some contradiction in what you have been asked to do. You have to do a monochrome painting using three colours? Well, that, I am afraid, is impossible as the definition of monochrome is as following: (1)A picture, especially a painting, done in different shades of a single color. (2)The art or technique of executing such a picture. (3)The state of being in a single color. So, as you see, a monochrome painting can only be done using ONE colour (and different shades thereof). A Black and white photograph is monochrome because the picture is composed only of shades of grey. If you have been asked to do this as an art assignment I would check to see what your teacher actually wants of you, as… [cont.]

3 Guitar Questions! What is a Guitar Capo used for? How do you know when to use it in a song?
Q. Hi! I actually have 3 Questions: What is the guitar capo used for? When do you know when to use it in a song? Do Electric Guitars Use Capos? I've never seen a Electric guitar with a capo.
Asked by Chocolat - Tue Apr 8 11:01:27 2008 - - 5 Answers - 2 Comments
A. A capo is used to change (raise) the key of your open chords. A capo is most commonly used by guitar players that aren't good at barre chords, or for guitar riffs that require open strings in a key other than where open strings are available. (In a barre chord you use your fore-finger as a capo) A capo can be used on an electric as well. Even though it's electric, it's still a guitar (same rules). Most famous people you see performing with electric guitars know barre chords and don't need a capo.

So a 3 month old can only hold it in for like 3 hours. SO how the heck am I supposed to get through the night without the pup peeing/pooping in it's crate ? I need some type of schedule !

A. Your puppy needs to go out every 15 minutes at first during the day.. this is to teach him that when you take him out he needs to go then. As time passes and you see he is making progress you can take him out less and less often. During the night you give him a clean towel to lay on.. he will probably pee and poop on it, but that's what will happen regardless.. until he is able to hold it longer and longer. Just be prepared to take him out first thing in the morning and last thing every night right before bedtime everyday until he is much older. I do not recommend giving him newspaper in his create because dogs do not like to go where they sleep.. so this will just teach him to do the opposite, to go when he is in his create, sending… [cont.]

What are 3 common materials used for medical radiation protection?
Q. I was wondering what are 3 (or more) most common materials used in the protection of patients and hospital personnel during medical diagnostic procedures? These materials need to be able to shield against x-rays, alpha, beta, and gamma radiation. Also, is there any reputable web sources that I can get reference from? Thanks alot!

A. One of the most common materials used is the lead sheet. Lead is very good at blocking all forms of radiation, and it is relatively easy to find. (Mineral ore extraction) Another is concrete, assuming that the protection specified includes protection from the equipment from outside the room itself. You need 1cm of lead, or 6cm of concrete to protect people from radiation. Not sure of any other materials though.

What are 3 groups of substances that make up the majority of the bodies of plants and animals?
Q. Hi, For my Biology homework, one of the questions is: "The organic compounds of plants and animals are mostly in the form of three groups of substances that make up the majority of the bodies of these organisms. What are the 3 groups of organic compounds?" I'm guessing it's a really simple question, but I have simply no idea, and would be grateful if someone could help me! Thanks in advance!

A. There are actually 4 groups. They are proteins, carbohydrates, triglycerides and nucleic acids.

Why during the olympics were 3 minutes added to the end of the soccer match?
Q. Why during the olympics were 3 minutes added to the end of the soccer match? The announcer said that an additional 3 minutes (for a total of 6) could have been arbitrarily added. No explanation was given.

A. Depending on the game there is time lost, ex.. when a player fouls another player time goes by as they prepare for the foul kick. this and other things like going out of bounds and corner kicks, ect.. seconds go by and near the end of a soccer game the ref decides how much time was lost during the game and adds on with the usual 2,3,4 mins. It was not explained because alot of people who watch soccer know this. but anyway hope i helped.
