How do I judge 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water for my tomato plants?
Q. I've read that my tomato plants need 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water every week. How do I measure this? I live in So Cal so the only water these plants get is the water I put on them. I want to make sure I'm not over watering.
Asked by WESLEY V - Thu Jun 21 14:21:01 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It's not necessary to try and measure the water amount. Just give them a good drink once a week and you will be fine. They are not that finicky. They will let you know if you've given them too much by splitting the fruit. If that happens just cut back on the amount of water you give them.

What is a 1 and 1 free throw opportunity in basketball?
Q. In high school basketball, what is the team foul limit? What exactly is a 1 and 1 free throw opportunity n how does it work?Where do the players on the court go or stand when the fouled person is shooting a free throw?

A. Idk about high school but i was the stats girl for middle school basketball..the team foul limit i think was 7... 1 and 1 occurs when the other team is over the foul limit they shoot one, if they make it they shoot another one. and when shooting a free throw they should stand around the box and the fouled person should be at the free throw line of course. :)

Asked by Bobbi - Mon Nov 19 19:17:12 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. This really depends on the type of disability. Blind people need different accomodations than do those who use a wheelchair. I recently spent 3 months in a wheelchair, and I must say that it opened my eyes to the number of barriers that our disabled friends face on a daily basis. In our town, the sidewalks are so cracked that I was nearly pitched out of the wheelchair several times when my husband was pushing my chair. Our office is supposedly ADA compliant, yet I couldn't get my wheelchair into the bathroom. If you have a differently-abled employee, ask them to give you open and honest feedback about what they need in order to operate comfortably in your workplace.

Can 1/2hp garage door openers open a 2 car garage door without spring?
Q. Can 1/2hp garage door openers open a 2 car garage door without spring? One side of the wire on my garage door broke, right now the door is crooked. If I cut the remain wire, the door will not be sprung, will the garage door opener still have enough power to open it? This is just temp solution until I can get it fixed, but I need to know before I cut. Thanks. What I had to do last night was, I losened the bolt that was holding the wheel that was winding the wire, it released the spring's energy, then I just manually opened the door with a buddy. I'm going to hire a professional to fix it and wind it back to the proper tension though.

A. NO! Don't cut the remaining wire!. If you have individual side springs you have a fair chance of raising the door by giving it some manual lift assistance on the broken side. BUT- if your spring is a torsion rod that mounts horizontally on the wall right above the door I would have to advise you to please not attempt any action yourself, but contact an overhead door serviceman. Those torsion bar springs are LOADED with energy waiting to be released from the counter-wound springs and can be extremely dangerous when out of balance or suddenly released. With one half of the spring gone, this places abnormal overload on the remaining half, and without wanting to seem alarmist this does greatly raise the odds any jolting/erratic motion will be… [cont.]

How many blocks is 1 mile in california?
Q. I'm planning to run around the same block over and over for about 1 or 2 miles but I need to know how many blocks is 1 mile in southern california. how would i use mapquest?
Asked by christian - Sat May 9 13:14:50 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You'd indeed need to find your particular block and calculate it. If you can get someone to drive it in a car, you can use the odometer to estimate. Keep in mind if they're on the road and you're on an inside loop on the sidewalk, you're running a little shorter than the car measures. You can go to a mapping service like Mapquest and keep entering addresses like you would for directions, or in some places you can drag markers around on a route, and you can see what it says distances are.

How do you show just 1 carbon atom using skeletal forumla?
Q. If you are to draw 1 line, that would mean a carbon atom at each end, yes? So you do you just show 1 carbon atom? Thanks in advance for any help. Also if anyone can point me in a direction for some good AS/A-level chemistry help sites, I would be greatly appreciative. Cheers again.
Asked by John Dorian - Mon Dec 15 14:13:52 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Simple answer is you wouldn't because skeletal formula is usually for structural representation and there is no structure to a single carbon atom, also without any hydrogen atoms it's not an organic molecule so would not use skeletal formula. But that aside tecnically i suppose it would be a dot with 4 negative charge signes around it. I used for my chemistry A level and it was really good at explaining things.

How can 1 develop a mind for mathematics?
Q. I really want to become better in math, because at times it can be fun it's just when I get to something that I can't understand I tend to give up on it very easily. When I have some 1 point out to me what I did wrong I feel very stupid. So I was wondering what could I do to develop a mathematical mind.
Asked by The Chief - Sat Feb 9 22:52:13 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You have to have a mindset that math is not as difficult as it is. If you can understand what you read, then definitely you can translate these to mathematical formulas. Also, don't forget that practice, practice and more practice will be the key to your confidence in mathematics. Don't be afraid to commit mistakes as this is part of the learning process. Keep on doing more practice problems in addition to your assigned homework. Good luck.

What is the probability that player 1 will win?
Q. Two players compete in a game of chance involving a pair of fair dice. Player 1 rolls first and wins if she rolls a 7. Player 2 wins if he rolls a 7 or a 12. Play alternates until a player wins. What is the probability that player 1 will win?
Asked by TNT - Thu May 28 15:34:25 2009 - - 4 Answers - 2 Comments
A. Ways to roll a 7: 1+6 6+1 2+5 5+2 3+4 4+3 so 6. 6/36 = 1/6% of a win when rolling. Player 2 has a 7/36 chance of winning, which is a little over 1/6%. On the first roll, player 1 has a chance of 1/6. The probability of winning will change, because his second roll depends if player 2 loses now. Chance of player 2 losing is 36-7/36 = 29/36. So we mulitply 1/6 * 29/36 for the probability of player 2 losing AND player 1 winning on the second roll. If you want to know the probability that player 1 will win a roll, it's 1/6. If you want the probability that player 1 will win the game, it will fluxuate because the events depend on the earlier rolls all losing.

You really should have someone show you how to handfeed you can kill the bird if not Also when feeding a day old chick the formula will have to be a looser consistency than a older chick You also must feed Every 2 hours around the clock So do NOT start what you are not planning to finish. This is Not a easy process you need a brooder set up etc etc etc If this is your first time I would find a mentor breeder who lives near you to help you learn if you need help locating help email me through my profile i will put you in touch with someone near you to help Also check out Lovebirds plus forum believe me I was in the same exact place you were many years ago and if not for my mentor i would have surely killed my chicks. Are you… [cont.]

How much can 1 person realistically study per day on a consistent basis?
Q. I know what it takes for me to get to a 97+ rate of grades. I am a semi-perfectionist now that I figured it out. However, I would like to know a realistic amount of time per day or week to study to figure out how many classes I should take at 1 time. I am not looking for study ideas nor techniques as I said, because I figured out what works for me. I am just trying to figure out a correct amount of courses to take.

A. About 4 hrs a day. That means you have 4 hours for classes and 4 hrs for homework 2 hours for social time and 10 hrs to sleep.

A. Insulin wasn't discovered until 1921 and not readily available till several years later. We do not yet have 100 years of research on the subject. The people who say they know people close to 100 who are great probably didn't get type 1 till later in life. You can get it at any time. The options are open and endless. Let's bash some records !
