A. You should forgive her and make up. I'm gonna throw some religion on ya. Not forgiving someone is a sin. So I think that you and your other friend should just talk it out with the girl. If you still want her to be your friend then invite her. There was probably something bothering her. Sometimes I get upset about something and take it out on someone I love. So please do me a favor. Just talk to the girl about why she was mad. Be understanding to her. Talking out the little problems in life will make your bond stronger. Be loyal and always be there for one another.

How do I calculate 1/3 cup cooked pasta from uncooked?
Q. I want 1/3 cup cooked elbow macaroni. I can't figure out how much uncooked elbow macaroni to use. 1/3 cup equals one starch. I want to make a salad with fruit, vegetables, low fat mayo and artificial sweetener. The box of uncooked elbow macaroni says that 1/2 cup uncooked is 56 grams. My diet calls for 1/3 cup cooked and doesn't give it in grams. I'm terrible at math, and can't figure out how to calculate this. I've searched for conversion tables, but my search didn't produce anything. Can someone steer me in the right direction?

A. Pasta and rice both, depending on variety, absorb more or less two times their weight in water when they are cooked, in other words they approximately treble in volume. So for 1/3 cup cooked measure you need c1/9 cup (about two tablespoonfuls) dry. This is impractical to measure, especially with shapes like elbow which which can't be levelled smoothly as rice can. If I have calculated correctly, you need 12.5 grams of dry pasta. That's hardly worth cooking. It would be easier to cook a weighed amount, say 100g to make calculations easy, measure it when cooked (I would guess it comes to a bit under three cups), keep the result on file and use up the leftover macaroni in other recipes in the near future. Generally, it is more… [cont.]

Q. I'm a Chinese descent and occasionally eat meals where steamed rice is the main course. What are some similarities and differences between 1 mole of water molecules and 1 mole of copper atoms?
Q. I know what is similar is that it is 6.2times10^23 of the units and that it is different in that 1 is copper and 1 is water and one is atoms and 1 is molecules, so the copper makes up a certain number of molecules that are less than a mole while the water is a mole in itself. Is there anything else you can think of?

A. 1 mole of water = 1 molecule of water. H2O, per the periodic table weighs 16 grams/mole. If you want to know more about water and its properties go to this web site: 1 mole of copper = 1 molecule of copper. It weighs 63.55 grams/mole. If you want to know more about copper go to the above web site. In the middle of the left side of the page is a blank box. Type "copper" in the box and press "enter". Good Luck!

Q. What is the #1 thing the community can do to remove a barrier for a person with a physical disability? What is the #1 thing you can do to remove a barrier for a person with a physical disability? I am not kidding.
Asked by Bobbi - Mon Nov 19 19:17:12 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. This really depends on the type of disability. Blind people need different accomodations than do those who use a wheelchair. I recently spent 3 months in a wheelchair, and I must say that it opened my eyes to the number of barriers that our disabled friends face on a daily basis. In our town, the sidewalks are so cracked that I was nearly pitched out of the wheelchair several times when my husband was pushing my chair. Our office is supposedly ADA compliant, yet I couldn't get my wheelchair into the bathroom. If you have a differently-abled employee, ask them to give you open and honest feedback about what they need in order to operate comfortably in your workplace.

Can 1/2hp garage door openers open a 2 car garage door without spring?
Q. Can 1/2hp garage door openers open a 2 car garage door without spring? One side of the wire on my garage door broke, right now the door is crooked. If I cut the remain wire, the door will not be sprung, will the garage door opener still have enough power to open it? This is just temp solution until I can get it fixed, but I need to know before I cut. Thanks. What I had to do last night was, I losened the bolt that was holding the wheel that was winding the wire, it released the spring's energy, then I just manually opened the door with a buddy. I'm going to hire a professional to fix it and wind it back to the proper tension though.

A. NO! Don't cut the remaining wire!. If you have individual side springs you have a fair chance of raising the door by giving it some manual lift assistance on the broken side. BUT- if your spring is a torsion rod that mounts horizontally on the wall right above the door I would have to advise you to please not attempt any action yourself, but contact an overhead door serviceman. Those torsion bar springs are LOADED with energy waiting to be released from the counter-wound springs and can be extremely dangerous when out of balance or suddenly released. With one half of the spring gone, this places abnormal overload on the remaining half, and without wanting to seem alarmist this does greatly raise the odds any jolting/erratic motion will be… [cont.]

How to transition for 1" step down from new wood flooring to old. Contractor says it can't be done w/ reducer?
Q. I will have a 1" difference between new & old flooring. Contractor wants to rip out subflooring & I would like to save money & use a transition strip. He says 1" is too high. What about a wide wooden transition about 6" to allow a gradual transition?

A. Why does he want to rip out the sub floor? If he does he could also put in a new sub floor to bring it even. I'm sure you could get a bevelled peice of wood at Home Depot & stain it, then butt it up to the new floor. Regardless of what you do, is this going to cause a tripping hazard. Good luck.

What is the probability that at least 1 of 2 will occur?
Q. I am doing a problem for statistics class that deals with the following question: What is the probability that at least 1 of 2 randomly selected batteries will be rejected by plan A? I have already determined that the probability of 1 battery being rejected is 2.5%, so would would it be for at least 1 of 2? Would you just to 2.5%^2, or is there a different procedure for "at least"? Thanks. @SV... So basically I would add the probability of those two instances? The probability of 1 would be 2.5%, and the probability of 2 would be 2.5%^2, so the answer would come out to: 8.75% Is this correct? I recommend everyone check out this answer, it helped me the most, especially zantu3's solution:
Asked by tdude51 - Wed Oct 3 18:33:51 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The probability that at least one is rejected is: Pr[first is rejected] + Pr[second is rejected] - Pr[both are rejected] 0.025 + 0.025 - 0.025^2 = 0.049375 = 4.9375% The reason we have to subtract off Pr[both are rejected] is because it is counted in Pr[first is rejected] and in Pr[second is rejected].

What's the difference between Algebra 1 and Algebra 1A?
Q. I have been in home school for a year and a half and I'm in 11th grade. I am planning on going back to regular high school for my senior year. The school I wan't to go to you must finish 1 year of Algebra 1 and geometry in order to graduate. I have already finished a year of Algebra 1A. So I was wondering what the difference between Algebra 1 and Algebra 1A is.

A. One of them is more watered down and moves at a slower pace "Alg. 1 A." and you also learn the basics of alg. 1 in alg. A!!

How do you show just 1 carbon atom using skeletal forumla?
Q. If you are to draw 1 line, that would mean a carbon atom at each end, yes? So you do you just show 1 carbon atom? Thanks in advance for any help. Also if anyone can point me in a direction for some good AS/A-level chemistry help sites, I would be greatly appreciative. Cheers again.

A. Simple answer is you wouldn't because skeletal formula is usually for structural representation and there is no structure to a single carbon atom, also without any hydrogen atoms it's not an organic molecule so would not use skeletal formula. But that aside tecnically i suppose it would be a dot with 4 negative charge signes around it. I used for my chemistry A level and it was really good at explaining things.
